File Preparation Requirements for Print:

SOFTWARE                                                                                                                                                                       Our department is Macintosh based, standard Graphic File programs for submission are:                                             Adobe Photoshop TIFF, JPEG, Illustrator EPS, and Adobe PDFs.

ARTWORK                                                                                                                                                                             For reference, please always include a full color hard copy (printout) of the design and the required measurements    (i.e., Width x Height).                                                                                                                                                                               Images & document setting should be in the CMYK color mode.                                                                                         Please consult with our specialist about bleed and/or overlap size needed prior to designing graphics, since it may vary depending on a project.

The following guidelines define the types of file and resolution suggested to ensure your files print as intended -

Adobe Photoshop (pixel based) files:                                                                                                                                       Save as TIFF, PSD, or PSB documents. When saving tiffs, do not use LZW compression.                                                      If applicable, when submitting a flattened image file, please also provide the original layered document (including fonts used). This will allow the file to be adjusted if necessary.                                                                                                         Ideally, pixel images should be at a minimum of 150 dpi (dots per inch) at full size.                                                        FYI - Trade show and point of purchase materials need to be very high resolution. Going lower than 100 dpi will result in some pixelation, but commercial trucks, etc., can be a little lower as these are not usually viewed within 5 feet and standing still, so please use discretion. You can scale large murals and vehicle sides bearing in mind that the rasterized dpi must remain at the relative full output print size. “Artificially" increasing image resolution  will reduce image quality by making the image appear out of focus and fuzzy. Feel free to call us for guidance.

Adobe Illustrator (vector based) files:                                                                                                                                      Save as Illustrator EPS documents.                                                                                                                                       Vector (line) files do not require specific resolution - the artwork can be built at a proportionally smaller percentage     (i.e., 50%, 25% etc.). Please indicate percentage.                                                                                                                          Fonts should be provided or converted to outlines.                                                                                                              Files for computer cut vinyl text and/or logos have to have clean shape lines that do not overlap.                                        If you intend to use combinations of type and images, and/or effects such as drop shadows and gradients, we strongly recommend that these files be built in Adobe Photoshop as undesired results can occur when these effects are applied      in Adobe Illustrator program.                                                                                                                                                                                   -----------------------                                                                                                                                                                                 COLOR Matching                                                                                                                                                                                 PMS - The most commonly used color reference for digital printing is the Pantone Matching System.                                      When building files for printing, please declare all required PMS colors to be matched within the file.                                Use ”Solid Coated” colors, not “Uncoated”.                                                                                                                                                           When specifying other colors to match, such as paint colors or other finishes, please provide a physical reference of the color (i.e. paint chips or swatch of material) and clearly call out these colors in your files.                                                     --------
